Brooki Bakehouse Founder Survives Scandal and Plans Global Expansion After $25M Middle East Investment

Brooke Bellamy, the TikTok creator behind the popular Brooki Bakehouse brand, has proven that resilience and strong community support can keep a baking business thriving even after controversy. Despite facing plagiarism accusations earlier this year involving recipes featured in her cookbook Bake With Brooki, Bellamy’s business continues to grow at a remarkable pace.
The Brisbane-based baker, who has accumulated more than two million followers across social media, recently secured a major $25 million investment from Arada. Arada is a property developer co-owned by Saudi Arabia’s Prince Al Waleed bin Talal and Ahmed Al Qasimi of the Sharjah royal family. The funding will support Brooki Bakehouse’s plans to expand to 100 bakery locations globally.
Brooki Bakehouse is one of the newest examples of a social media driven baking brand attracting serious investor interest. Bellamy launched her bakery in 2022 and quickly built a loyal following by sharing videos of her daily routine preparing cookies, cakes, and macarons. These videos led to long queues at her Brisbane shop and a strong online community that helped elevate her business.
Earlier allegations claimed that some recipes from her cookbook were too similar to those of RecipeTin Eats blogger Nagi Maehashi and American baker Sally McKenney. Bellamy and her publisher, Penguin, denied the claims. According to Bellamy, criticism is part of success, and she remained focused on running her bakery business. Since the controversy, the company has opened three more stores and achieved ten million dollars in revenue over twelve months, with same-store sales increasing by 150 percent.
The new investment will allow Brooki Bakehouse to enter the United Arab Emirates market, including plans for a flagship Dubai bakery and expanded production capabilities to meet international demand. The first overseas store will be located in the UAE, where Brooki has already run successful pop-ups replicating the long lines often seen in Australia.
Bellamy’s journey shows how powerful baking skills, creativity, and persistence can be. Her story also highlights how professional baking can evolve from simple social media videos into a global brand supported by investors and customers around the world.
