Bridging Japanese Heritage & Filipino Taste: Mastering the Craft of Japanese Cuisine
When you think of authentic Japanese flavor in the Philippines, Chef Takashi Kawasaki is one of the names that stands out. With two decades of experience running Japanese restaurants both in Japan and here at home, he brings culinary precision, insightful business acumen, and a passion for elevating traditional techniques.

A Taste of His Journey
He’s the mind behind Nishikiken Foods, a wholesaler-manufacturer that supplies high-quality Japanese ingredients and food products to restaurants and homes.
He also owns Takashi Japanese Cuisine, known for its authentic ramen, sushi, donburi bowls, and creative Asian Japanese food menus in Kapitolyo, Pasig, and branches like Salcedo Village, Makati.
His restaurants are praised for combining traditional Japanese authenticity with touches that make sense for Filipino diners—like adding local ingredients, offering bento boxes for office workers, or putting interesting spins on comfort dishes.
What Makes Him a Master
Chef Takashi is more than just someone who runs restaurants. He’s a consultant, manufacturer, and food innovator. Through Nishikiken, he helps ensure Filipino kitchens get access to safe, affordable, and authentic Japanese food products. He also develops recipes and menu items that fuse his Japanese roots with what works locally. His hands-on experience in both the back of house and the supply side gives him rare insight into what it takes to keep quality high and operations efficient.
